Many clients I talk to are simply not ready for the ever-changing conditions in the business world as cloud computing gains in popularity. My company started using it years ago, when we needed to expand our horizons in our IT department, to include flexibility in transferring data when our workers were away from their desks. We quickly realized we could maximize mobile cloud computing technologies to our company’s benefit, with virtually no additional costs of buying needed equipment or extra personnel. The model we use in optimizing mobile cloud computing technology can easily be incorporated into any business model.
Mobile Applications Will Be Common for the Workplace
With the ever-increasing popularity of laptops, tablets and smartphones in the workplace, the mobile network will soon replace all other preferred methods of Internet connectivity in the United States. Mobile devices are expected to increase up to over 250 million individuals by the year 2016, from approximately 175 million in the year 2012. In my office, my employees are showing a higher level of interest in using their smartphones, laptops and tablets when away from their desk, either on travel or at lunch.
Unified Cloud Solutions Will Be the Demand for Most Businesses
Videoconferencing over mobile applications is already becoming highly common in most workplaces. It seems as though companies are becoming highly adapted to mobile devices including smartphones and tablets. For my business, I want my employees to be able to share a seamless transfer of company documents whether they are sitting at their desk, at a business location, or traveling around the world.
Mobile Computing Will Become the “Internet of Things”
For my company, it is not hard to imagine that mobile computing will quickly develop into the “Internet of things” as there continues to be a dramatic shift from traditional Internet connectivity to smartphones. As more workers gain remote access to files and data that are stored in the cloud, the more fruitful businesses will become at every level.
Mobile Phones Will Be an Active Extension for Desktops
Virtual desktop integration (VDI) is quickly becoming a user’s choice because it provides the individual an identical desktop experience over their mobile device. With added mobility and flexibility, individuals away from the workplace can increase their business productivity in a secured environment, using the cloud as a way to transfer files, and communicate with other employees, associates, professionals, vendors and others.
There are significant benefits of mobile cloud computing technologies for any business. My company has been able to evolve an existing infrastructure by fully utilizing virtual desktop environments at remote locations, away from the office. Because it offers full security and safeguards against hackers, viruses and cyber-attacks, mobile cloud computing will continue to be the driving force in the ever evolving world of Internet connectivity.
